As a child, I was fascinated by the warmth, comfort, and the completely engaging experience that a building can bring, aside from the fundamental purpose of providing shelter.  I excelled in mathematics, model-making, painting, and drawing, and I was enamored with the possibility of combinng these arts to create something that could enhance and improve the quality of people’s lives.  I began with basic drafting classes in high school, and in 2004 I began the pre-architecture program at El Paso Community College.  I then transferred to the newly opened College of Architecture for Texas Tech in El Paso, and graduated with my bachelor’s degree in the science of architecture in 2010.  I immediately continued my graduate studies at Texas Tech in Lubbock, Texas, with a focus on digital design fabrication, and I was extraordinarily fortunate to attend my commencement ceremonies for my graduation on my very birthday, August 11, 2012. I am also fortunate to have been part of the El Paso Community College’s department of architecture for 8 years.  I was Co-Founder to the new fabrication lab that is soon to open at EPCC, and I am also proud to be the Co-Faculty Advisor for the Architecture Society at EPCC.  I was awarded with the Adjunct Faculty Achievement award at EPCC for 2018, and I hope that I can continue to be part of the wonderful architecture culture at EPCC, and as a designer that aspires to attain my license in architecture, I aim to give back, to return the knowledge I gain to the great Sun City.
